Child Abuse Lawyer Liz Dux who is representing 62 victims of Jimmy Savile told BBC London presenters Penny Smith and Paul Ross that she has never heard such comments from a prosecuting counsel before.
Liz said that at the age of 13 one cannot give consent and no counsel and Judges should use this language. Liz went on to say that the Judge should have stopped the prosecuting counsel from saying these comments.
Liz expressed her disappoint that after the Savile case she had felt that a landmark had been reached in terms of people having the strength to come forward. Going forward Liz said that she fully supports the call for specialist Judges who have expert knowledge and a greater understanding of this complex and sensitive area of law.
