Stuart Hall has been charged with 14 charges of indecently assaulting girls, including one as young as nine between 1967 and 1985.

Liz Dux discussed how more victims are coming forward, and how the case is being compared to that of Jimmy Savile. Liz said that victims are often left feeling isolated when the abuse involves someone in the public eye. However, she said that people are finding the confidence to come forward if suspects are named, and victims are now feeling that they are being listened to with credibility.

Liz went on to say that because of the length of time involved in some sex abuse cases there is likely to be no forensic evidence, so it is important that others some forward, and that an increase in the reporting of abuse has allowed victims to do this.

Liz said that she is seeing an increase in cases of abuse involving care homes, children's charities and primary schools. She said that not all cases of abuse are historic and she encouraged people to come forward and speak out if they have been a victim of abuse. Liz also said that if abusers can be caught and brought to justice while they are still alive - unlike Jimmy Savile, this proves that peoples stories need to be aired.
